The Supreme Court Tuesday ruled in favor of Mr. Morris Saytumah of Bomi County and Cllr. Varney Sherman of Grand Cape Mount County.

Associate Justice Her Honor Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh read the opinion on behalf of the full bench saying “The National Elections Commission was not in error to certificate Cllr. Sherman and Mr. Saytumah as winners of last year senatorial election and the writs of prohibition prayed for by petitioners are hereby lifted.”

During her reading, Justice Yuoh provided the foundation for the high court’s decision.

She ordered the clerk of the Court to communicate with the National Elections Commission to have Cllr. Sherman and Saytumah certificated to allow the two Senators-elect take their seats at the Upper House of the Legislature.
