A special one-day summit on eradicating Ebola from the Mano River sub region has ended in Conakry, Guinea. Heads of State from Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea have vowed to institute measures to ensure the region is freed of Ebola within 60 days. In a communiqué signed by all heads of state present at the
summit, the plan to end the spread of the virus in these West African countries has been outlined. According to Information Minister Lewis Brown, the 60 day count begins February 15, 2015.
Meanwhile, the Mano River Union (MRU) has named President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as its Spokesperson in the upcoming EU High Level Summit on Ebola, which is scheduled to take place on 3rd March in Brussels, Belgium.
