ROBERTSPORT, December 24 (LINA) – The Tallah Township Development Corporation (TTDC) based in the United States of America has donated medical and other supplies valued over US$700, 000 to the Tallah Township Clinic in Commonwealth District, Grand Cape Mount County.

The items donated include medical drugs, personal protective equipment, rakes, stationery and wheelbarrows.

According to the Liberia News Agency (LINA) Cape Mount correspondent, the items were presented to the Township Commissioner, Jane White, by the organization’s board member in Liberia, Madame Mariama Getaweh.

Madam Getaweh said the organization’s decision to identify with the citizens of Tallah Township is based on the huge gap created in the health sector by the prolonged civil crisis and the outbreak of deadly Ebola virus.

She said besides the donation, the organization has also constructed four hand pumps and a modern toilet in four communities in the township and that it has planned several development projects intended to improve the living standard of the people of Tallah Township.

Receiving the items, Tallah Township Commissioner Madam White thanked the Getaweh family for working out the modalities for the donation.

Earlier, an advisor of the organization, Dr. S. Momolu Getaweh, lauded the organization for the donation, and urged the Officer-In-Charge (OIC) of the Tallah Clinic and the leadership of the Township to use the drugs and other items for the intended purpose.
