MONROVIA, Jan 2 (LINA) -The Liberian Government has started paying relocation packages to squatters occupying camp houses within the former Bong Mining Company concession area in Fuamah District, Bong County.

The exercise began on December 18, 2013 and will be completed within 25 days, the Liberia News Agency quotes a release issued Thursday by the Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy.

The release said 827 family heads will receive US$500 per family head.

MONROVIA, Jan 2 (LINA) – The National Elections Commission (NEC) will launch its civic and voter education on the voter roll update on Saturday, January 4.

The civic education on the voter roll update precedes the voter roll update exercise that runs from January 13 to March 5, 2014.

NEC Director for civic education on voters’ registration, Josiah Jacobs disclosed that the exercise will kick-off simultaneously nationwide with street parades.
