KAKATA, August 26 (LINA) – A local GSM company is fencing the compound of the Charles Henry Rennie Hospital in Kakata, Margibi County, to curtail the increasing wave of intrusion and theft at the health facility.

The US$23,000 project, which is being implemented by the Benoni Urey Foundation, was made possible through Mrs. Mai Bright-Urey, who solicited Cellcom Communications Corporation’s involvement.
Work on the fence started last Saturday.
The fencing project comes in the wake of an appeal made by the Acting County Health Officer of Margibi, Dr. Adolphus Yeiah, according to the Liberia News Agency.
Meanwhile, Margibi County Superintendent John Buway is commending the Management of the Cellcom Communications Corporation and Mrs. Mai Urey for the fencing of the hospital.
He said the fencing of the C.H. Rennie Hospital was “very timely” and will help curtail the unnecessary intrusion and theft being experienced at the hospital.
The C.H. Rennie Memorial Hospital is the only government referral hospital in the county and was constructed in the early 70s.
It was shutdown on August 5, 2014 after several senior medical staff got infected with the Ebola virus, leaving 18 health workers dead.
