ROBERTSPORT, August 27 (LINA) -The Commissioner of Porkpa District in Grand Cape Mount County, Lawrence Brown, has appealed to GSM operators to extend their services to the district to provide residents access to communication.
He said since the establishment of these companies in the country over a decade ago, there is no network in the district, posing communication problems for residents.
Commissioner Brown, who made the statement recently in Robertsport in an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA), said at present, the entire district is cut-off from other parts of Liberia and the world.
He explained that before residents communicate with their families and loved ones outside the district, they have to travel about for four hours to another district.
“Therefore, I am asking owners of these cell phone companies to come to our district to open a network so that the people will have access to communication,” Brown appealed.
