MONROVIA, September 11 (LINA) - The Grand Jury of the Criminal Court “D” at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia Thursday indicted Nyumah Tamba on charges of armed robbery.
The trial of Tamba, who was arrested on December 11, 2011, will start on Friday, September 12.

The indictment said Tamba and his accomplices, who are still at large, entered the home of private Prosecutor Harris Johnson on GSA Road in Paynesville and allegedly held him at gunpoint demanding him to surrender cash and other valuables or they would kill him.

“The total value of properties stolen and cash carried away from the private prosecutor is US$3,045.00 and L$26,200,” according to the indictment.

The indictment further stated that the defendants’ acts are contrary to the statutory laws of Liberia and the peace and dignity of the country.

According to the indictment, Tamba pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday and declared his innocence of all the charges levied against him.
