TUBANBURG, October 1 (LINA) - The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has donated four 25 kilogram bags of rice to Radio Bomi for onward distribution to the needy in Bomi County.

Presenting the rice, PUL President Abdullah Kamara said although the Union has no money, they saw the need to donate to the radio which has the wisdom to know the people who are in need.

Mr. Kamara made the donation during programs marking the 50th Anniversary celebration of the PUL held on Tuesday in Tubmanburg, Bomi County under the theme: Media Awareness for Ebola Prevention Campaign.

Mr. Kamara observed that containment of the Ebola virus has become the focus of all institutions in the country, with the PUL being no exception.

He said if people take a close look at the front pages of newspapers these days, every story there is tied to Ebola.

“The Ebola Virus has taken over our lives and even restricted our works,” he emphasized.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the management and staff, Station Manager Zinnah Cassel said taking the PUL anniversary celebration to Bomi County
that is hard hit by Ebola is commendable.

Mr. Cassel said the people of Bomi are appreciative that the Union decided to honor the county and thanked the Union for the donation.
