ZWEDRU, Feb 22 (LINA) - A new dump-site to dispose of garbage and enhance sanitation in the provincial capital Zwedru has been created by the Zwedru City Council (ZCC). 

The dump site is located about eight kilometers from the city center on the Sinoe Highway.

According to a ZCC press release, the arrangement for the site was made with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the ZCC and authorities of the Tchien Mehnsohn Clan.

A tribal certificate has in the meantime been presented to the ZCC, granting it Power of Attorney over the parcel of land. The release said under the agreement, the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) will initially manage the dumpsite.

Many residents of Zwedru have welcomed this development with a sigh of relief, expressing optimism that it will give Zwedru a facelift.
