GBARNGA, Feb 24 (LINA) –The Regional Director for Region Five of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), Mr. J. Lavelah Massaquoi, is calling on employers in Bong and Lofa counties to pay their Social Security contributions to NASSCORP.
While lauding entities that are already part of the NASSCORP pension scheme, he urged individuals to ensure that they have financial security through the insurance to have a stress-free old age.
Meanwhile, Mr. Massaquoi has disclosed that the entity is experiencing huge increase in its registry in Lofa and Bong Counties.
He said since taking over in July 2013, his team has instituted several reform measures, including public awareness on the importance of NASSCORP, training sessions for employees and employers, among others.
Mr. Massaquoi told the Liberia News Agency Sunday that these reforms contributed to the registration of more than 15 new institutions which, he said, has increased the revenue generation of NASSCORP in the region.
“Even institutions that were not current in the payment of their contributions have now made them current,” noted the NASSCORP Regional Director of Region Five.
NASSCORP is a body set up by the Liberian Government mandated to collect social security contributions with the aim of providing citizens with retirement and other benefits upon completion of service and in retirement.
