SANNIQUELLIE, December 31 (LINA) - The Secretary General of the Ruling Unity Party, Wilmot Paye has challenged Senator-elect Prince Yormie Johnson to do all it takes to unite the people of Nimba having been given the mandate to serve for the next nine years.
Paye indicated that the people of Nimba who massively elected him deserve unity which is geared towards fostering peace and development in the county, noting "The electorate in Nimba voted beyond tribal, ethnic, & religious sentiments”.
The Party’s Chief Scribe made the comment on Wednesday at a thanksgiving celebration held in honor of Senato-elect Johnson at his residence in Ganta by the “Friends of PYJ” for his victory in the just-ended mid-term Senatorial Election.
He urged the Nimba County lawmaker to prioritize peace building and unity as his hallmark with the mantle of authority placed in his hands to serve the people of Nimba County for the second time.
T can be recalled that members of the Nimba Legislative Caucus removed Senator Prince Johnson from the chairmanship of that august body and elected Senator Thomas Grupee on grounds that Senator Johnson lacked cooperation with his counterparts.
