MONROVIA, January 26 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has announced intentions to submit a bill for the creation of criminal Court “F” to be enacted by the National Legislature.

The new court, if proposed and endorsed, will be a major theater where the fight against corruption will be played out.

Delivering her 10th National Address to the National Legislature Monday, she indicated that unless practical measures are put in place to entrench the rule of law, dishonesty would still be inevitable.

The Chief Executive observed that corruption is still a major problem to the economy and serves as a quiet vampire undermining developmental agenda of the government.

Previously in her 2006 Inaugural address, Sirleaf declared corruption as public enemy number one, and went ahead creating and reactivating  institutions-Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), General Auditing Commission (GAC).

However, with no judicial organ to take direct responsibilities of alleged corruption cases, those entities have been unable to fully contribute to the anti-corruption fight.

When this court is created, anti-corruption activities would be speedily gone through the legal process from investigation to trial.
