MONROVIA, January 27(LINA)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has declared to submit a number of Legislations to the 53rd Legislature for passage aimed at improving the economy of the country.

The Legislations include a bill to effectuate an Infrastructure Development Agreement between the Governments of Liberia and West African Corporation for the transshipment of Iron Ore between Liberia and the Republic of Guinea, the State owned Liberia News Agency reports.

Also to be submitted to the Legislature, is a bill to create a Special Economic Zone and Bill to establish an energy law to govern the Energy Sector of Liberia, among others.

Delivering her Annual Message and State of Nation Address to the 53rd Legislature on Monday, President Johnson-Sirleaf noted that for several decades, the Governments of Liberia and Guinea have considered and explored more cooperation to facilitate the evacuation of the Iron Ore in parts of Guinea near the Liberia Border, using infrastructure in Liberia.

The State of the Nation address is in fulfillment of Article 58 of the 1986 Constitution of the Republic of Liberia, which requires the President to address the Legislature on the fourth working Monday of each year.
