MONROVIA January 28 (LINA) -Deputy Information Minister Andrew Tehmeh has clarified that the ministry’s ongoing reform process is intended to validate that everyone holding an appointed or testable position has passed the general test administered by the Civil Service Agency (CSA).

He disclosed that the ministry’s action to request the CSA test results from some employees recently is in line with the standing order of the agency’s human resource manual.

He made the statement at the Ministry of Information daily press conference held at the ministry in Monrovia on Wednesday.

He explained that the CSA regulation of sitting and passing the administered test does not only put people in the position of being an employee, but also provides protection and benefits of being a regular civil servant.

Tehmeh frowned on media reports indicating that the Ministry of Information is attempting to make jobless over 50 employees, adding: “Such reports are not balanced and as such lack good judgment of news reporting.”

He noted that the ministry has for over two years requested CSA test results from the concerned employees, but several deadlines have passed without them presenting the results.
