SANNIQUILLIE, January 28 (LINA) - The International Research and Exchange Board (IREX) has started a four-day capacity-building workshop for media practitioners in Ganta, Nimba County.

Under its "Ebola Community Action Platform" (E-CAP) program, the training which started Tuesday is aimed at increasing awareness of the Ebola virus among journalists.
Twenty-four journalists form eight community radios in Bong, Bassa, River Cess and Nimba counties are being trained on how to report facts about Ebola and related activities such as the Ebola Treatment Unit, early treatment, survival of patients, and possibility of future outbreak.
Under the IREX E-CAP program, the community radios will produce jingles, promos and conduct talk shows to alleviate fears that lead to denial, stigma, and complacency.
IREX Media Consultant, who is also serving as a facilitator at the training, Frank Sainworla, said E-CAP is focused on a sustained campaign to eradicate Ebola using community radios.
