GBARNGA, January 30 (LINA) – Bong County Health Team has emphasized the need for implementing partners to define their mode of intervention in the health sector of the county.

County Health Officer Dr. Samson K. Arzoaquoi told the opening of a technical session of partners Thursday that the exercise is intended to address the cross-cutting issues surrounding duplication of intervention.

“As we enter phase two of our fight against Ebola, we want to know clearly who our partners are and what their respective interventions are to create the environment that is without hindrance,” said Arzoaquoi.

He observed that there exists conflict between partners implementing similar projects in the same area, noting that this was one of the causes for the technical session.

Meanwhile, in their plan for Phase Two of the Ebola fight, it was established that Save the Children International, Global Communities and Project Concern International were funded by USAID and that UNDP was intending to implement similar projects in the same districts.

The session brought together several partners, including the International Medical Corps, UNICEF, UNMIL, SCI, PCI and GC, among others.
