CODRA Launches Bio-Diversity Project In Boisen

BOISEN, January 30 (LINA) - The Center for Development and Research Agency (CODRA) has launched its bio-diversity project in Kpanquoi Town, Boisen District, Bong County.



Addressing participants at the launch Wednesday, CODRA Executive Director Lassana Dukuly said the project will provide community residents with new skills in swamp development as an alternative to attaining their livelihood.

Dukuly noted that the project is also intended to ensure the protection of a specific monkey spices within the forest region.
He said under the project, CODRA will establish a famer field school to teach farmers basic skills and techniques in managing their low-land farms.

He noted that the six months project will organize beneficiaries into a farmer cooperative intended to ensure the future sustenance of the project.

Meanwhile, Kpanquoi citizens have commended CODRA for their preferment to host the project and promised to cooperate for its success.

The project is supported by the Global Environmental Facility through the U.N. Development Program-Liberia under its small grant program.
