BUCHANAN, February 2 (LINA) - The Superintendents Council of Liberia has elected Grand Bassa County Superintendent Etweda A. Cooper to head the body for the next two years.
Superintendent Cooper won on white ballot in an election that took place behind closed door in the conference hall of the Administration Building in Buchanan at the weekend.
Also elected were Lofa County Superintendent George Dunor as Vice Chairman for Administration; Cape Mount County Assistant Superintendent for Development, Tenneh Kpardeh as Chair for Operations and Bomi County Development Superintendent, Ernest Davis, as Secretary-General.
Others are Bong County Superintendent Serena Polson Mappy as Treasurer; Nimba County Development Superintendent D. Dorr Cooper as Financial Secretary and Montserrado County Superintendent Florence Brandy as Chaplain.
In an exclusive interview with the Liberia News Agency following the election, Cooper thanked her colleagues for the confidence repose in her and promised to make the body better than it has been since its establishment.
Superintendent Cooper succeeds J. Milton Teahjay, former Superintendent of Sinoe County, who is now Senator of the county.
The election was held at the end of a three-day retreat in Grand Bassa County.
The council comprises the superintendents and development superintendents of the 15 political sub-divisions of Liberia.
