MONROVIA, February 2 (LINA) - Labor Minister Neto Z. Lighe has assured citizens of Grand Bassa County that the government is committed to an impartial investigation into the recent explosion at the Liberia Agricultural Company (LAC) boiler.

His assurance is a result of the January 19 explosion at the factory’s boiler that claimed the lives of six employees and severely injured nine others who are currently undergoing treatment in Monrovia.

Speaking at the Information Ministry daily press briefing Monday, Lighe said the cause of the accident is complex and would be difficult to establish unless the investigation is done professionally and technically.

According to him, line agencies like the Liberia National Police, Ministries of Labor, Internal Affairs, National Fire Service and Environmental Protection Agency are expected to begin comprehensive investigations into the cause of the explosion.

He indicated that the government is also expecting a three-man delegation from Indonesia, the manufacture of the exploded equipment, to form part of the investigations.
