MONROVIA February4 (LINA) - Commercial drivers have been warned to refrain from overcharging passengers and abide by the government-regulated transport fares or risk the repercussion.
Transport Minister Angela Cassell-Bush issued the warning in an interview with reporters Tuesday in reaction to reports that commercial drivers were still overcharging passengers.
The Transport Minister restated that the fines for the first offense for violating the new fares is US$100 for commercial taxi and US$200 for bus to be paid into government revenue within 24 hours.
Bush revealed that the Ministries of Commerce and Transport have consulted on the reduction of fuel costs and how it can translate into reduction in transport fares that would benefit all Liberians.
