MONROVIA, February 4 (LINA) -The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has given an initial grant of US$500,000 to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) to train 500 youths in agriculture in four counties, Youth Minister, Eugene Nagbe, has disclosed.

Nagbe said the four counties that are expected to benefit from the FAO grant are Bomi, Margibi, Grand Bassa and Monsterrado.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Minister Nagbe made the disclosure Wednesday during the Information Ministry regular Ebola press Briefing in the Charles Gbenyon Conference Hall at the Ministry.

Meanwhile, Nagbe has revealed that the ministry in partnership with HELOG Academy, a German vocational training program, will this week conduct pre-enrollment tests for dozens of young people to enroll in industrial mechanics.

He said the training is expected to begin in March this year in four counties.

In a related development, Minister Nagbe has indicated that the Government of Liberia will construct two youth centers in Harper, Maryland County and Barclayville, Grand Kru County by June this year.

He stated that the centers will provide a space for young people to congregate, adding that the government already has several youth centers in other regions.
