MONROVIA, February 6 (LINA) - A local organization, the National Single Parents Association of Liberia (NASPAL), is offering one-year scholarship to 18 students who lost their parents during the civil war and the Ebola outbreak in Liberia.
NASPAL Board of Directors Chairman, Isaiah Sackor, said beneficiaries are free to attend any school of their choice, starting from the first grade to college.
Disclosing this in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Monrovia Thursday, Sackor noted that the recipients will be given tuition, text and copy books, and uniforms.
He said beneficiaries who perform well will have the scholarship extended annually.
He said that the association was established in 1994 to respond to the educational needs of orphans, a role it has been fulfilling over the years.
Sackor said his association is lobbying with local and international organizations to expand the scholarship program.
