Swedes Rehabilitating 600km Of Roads In 3 Counties

MONROVIA, February 7 (LINA) -The Ministry of Public Works has disclosed that a total of 600km of feeder roads will be rehabilitated in Bong, Nimba and Lofa counties under the Liberia Swedish Feeder Road Project (LSFRP).


 
Public Works Minister William Gyude Moore told the just-ended Cabinet Retreat held in Julijuah, Bomi County, that maintenance work on 494km of the 600km feeder roads in the three counties is currently ongoing.
 
Moore explained that by July 15, 2015, upgrading work on 103km of feeder roads in the counties is expected to commence, the Liberia News Agency reports.
 
He also revealed that under the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Road Project, a total of 84km of farm-to-market roads are currently being rehabilitated in Bong, Nimba and Lofa counties.
 
Moore also informed the Retreat that his ministry is supervising the rehabilitation of 65km of feeder roads in Lofa County under the Ministry of Agriculture Small Tree Crop Rehabilitation Project.
 
According to him, the ministry is also providing technical support to the Ministry of Agriculture for its projects in Grand Gedeh, River Gee and Grand Kru counties, under the Agriculture Sector Rehabilitation Project (ASRP).
 
The Ministry of Public Works was established in 1928 by an Act of National Legislature to plan, design, construct and maintain public infrastructure and formulate and supervise construction contracts in Liberia.
