Save The Children Turns Over School In Bong

Save the Children has turned over a newly- constructed six classroom public school to the government for the people of Jinniple-ta and its surroundings.

Speaking at the ceremony recently, Save the Children Senior Education Advisor Daniel Mcvitalis said the gesture was in continuation of the organization’s commitment to ensuring a better learning environment for Liberian children.

Mcvitalis, who put the cost of the facility at US$50,000, said it contains a hand pump, Principal’s office, store room and a four section latrine.

He pledged the institution’s continuous role in bolstering government’s efforts in the areas of education and child protection.
For his part, Bong County Electoral District 3 Representative George Mulbah described the construction of the school by Save the Children as a relief not only for the children of Jinniple-ta but surrounding towns and villages.

n separate remarks, Gbarnga School District Education Officer Lydia Cooper and the Administrative Assistant to Bong County Superintendent, Joseph Urey, lauded Save the Children for the project and challenged the people of Jinniple-ta to take ownership of its upkeep.
