MONROVIA, February 18 (LINA) - United Nations Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER), Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed is in Liberia on a three-day official visit.

According to an UNMEER press release, Ahmed arrived in Liberia on Wednesday and will depart the country on Friday, February 20.

While in the country, he will meet with President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Ebola response partners and health workers to discuss issues surrounding cross-border initiatives, especially in making sure that all of the highly hit countries, including Liberia, reach the zero case goals.

The UNMEER official will also appear at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism press briefing on Thursday to discuss his visit, cross-border initiatives and other issues.
