MONROVIA, February 20 (LINA) – The Supreme Court of Liberia has formerly closed its October 2014 Term of Court after handing down opinions and rendering judgment in 26 civil and criminal cases
“The Supreme Court will reopen on the second Monday in March 2015,” said Chief Justice Francis S. Korkpor.
Speaking at the closing ceremony held in the Chambers of the court Friday, Justice Korkpor said though the Court has closed to re-open in March, it will continue to hear election-related cases.
Meanwhile, Justice Korkpor has instructed the Clerk of Court to officially inform President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, House Speaker Alex Tyler and President Pro-Tempore Armah Jallah about the closure and re-opening of the Court on the second Monday in March.
At the same time, Justice Korkpor has said Associate Justice Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh will serve as Chamber Justice, succeeding Associate Justice Philips A. Banks.
