MONROVIA, February 23 (LINA) - The Rebuilding Basic Health Services (RBHS) set up here in 2008 to help revamp Liberia’s health sector devastated by 14 years of war, has concluded its operations in the country.

This was disclosed during the formal closing program of the institution’s operations in Liberia held recently in Monrovia, according to the Liberia News Agency.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Medical Officer of Liberia, Dr. Bernice Dahn, lauded the efforts of the USAID-funded RBHS in helping to revive the health sector to acceptable standards.

She added that the lasting reminder of RBHS’s time in the country would be the hundreds of health workers who received training in various components of health service delivery.

For her part, RBHS Chief of Party Rose Macauley applauded the Ministry of Health for the level of cooperation her institution enjoyed while carrying out its operations in Liberia.

She assured her availability at any time she is called upon to render service, and wished the country well in the challenges of post-Ebola recovery.
