MONROVIA, February 23 (LINA) –At least eight confirmed Ebola cases were reported from the 19 Ebola Treatment Units (ETUs) across the country in the past three weeks, Deputy Information Minister Isaac Jackson has disclosed.
Margibi and Montserrado counties are now the epicenters where the new cases are being recorded, the Liberia News Agency quotes Minister Jackson as saying.
“That shows a good sign that Liberia is on the verge of getting to zero cases,” Jackson said at the Ministry of Information daily Ebola press briefing at the ministry Monday.
He, however, cautioned against complacency and urged everyone to continue to respect the preventive measures outlined by health authorities, adding that people should always be on the alert in the fight against the virus.
Jackson added that if anybody notices any sick person, they should report the case to health facilities for treatment.
According to Jackson, the health ministry is working with international partners to ensure that the virus reaches zero and remains at zero.
