MONROVIA, February 24 (LINA) – Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has arrived in the United States on a three-day official visit.

She and her delegation landed in Washington, D.C. and will meet with Liberian Embassy officials this afternoon after a detailed briefing from former U.S. Ambassador to Liberia and now a senior official of the US Department of State, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

On Thursday, high on the President's agenda will be an address at an event on the Capitol Hill in which the President is expected to thank the American Government and people for their support in the ongoing fight against Ebola.

She is also expected to ask for additional support to the recovery efforts of Liberia and its afflicted neighbors.

On Friday, the Liberian leader will meet with Secretary John Kerry at the Department of State, and later with President Barack Obama at the White House.

The President's official delegation includes Ambassador Jeremiah Sulunteh,  Finance and Development Planning Minister Amara Konneh and Information Minister Lewis Brown.
