MONROVIA, February 25 (LINA) - Acting Information Minister Isaac Jackson has reiterated that the Government of Liberia is ‘serious and determined to fight corruption.’

He is therefore urging Liberians to desist from insinuations that might hamper government’s efforts to fight this menace.

Jackson’s statement comes in the wake of the recent indictment by the Grand Jury of Montserrado County of several ex-officials of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) and some members of the 52nd National Legislature.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information daily press conference held at the ministry in Monrovia Wednesday, Jackson said government’s move to battle corruption was a fight that requires genuine efforts.

He reminded citizens that the fight against corruption is not a selective fight, but rather a holistic battle which requires the role of all Liberians to rid the country of the menace that the President recently described as a “vampire.”

According to Jackson, the recent indictment of several ex-officials speaks volumes of the fact that the government’s effort against corruption is gaining momentum.

He then urged Liberians to complement government’s effort to ensure the fight is won.
