MONROVIA, February 25 (LINA) - The Vice President for ROOTS e.v., Mr. John O. Kwennah, has disclosed the donation of 18 state-of-the-art Sony digital recorders to 18 local FM radio stations in the country.
Roots is a group comprising Liberians and their friends in Germany organized under the umbrella of the Liberian-German Association (ROOTS), according to a dispatch sent to the Liberia News Agency Wednesday.
It has raised US$31,000 to purchase diverse medical supplies and loaded them into a 20-foot container to be shipped to Liberia as their quota to the fight against the Ebola virus.
Kwennah, who is also Ebola Project Coordinator for the association, said the recorders are intended to provide the stations vital production instruments for their (Ebola) awareness program.
“We hope that the Ebola virus will sooner than later become a footnote in our rich national history,” he added.
Upon arrival in Liberia, the consignment of medical supplies and recorders will be distributed by the association’s official local liaison, the NGO Development Education Network - Liberia (DEN-L).
