MONROVIA, February 28 (LINA) - Nimba County District 8 Representative Larry Younquoi has urged members of the House of Representatives to refrain from acts that have the propensity to bring that august body into public disrepute.

Younquoi described the House as a place of “respectability” and said it was incumbent upon those serving there to exhibit a high degree of integrity at all times, if they are to demand the respect of the public and their constituents, the Liberia News Agency reports.

He made the statement Thursday in session during deliberation on two separate reports submitted by the House Committee on Rules, Order and Administration in which suspension was recommended for three Representatives for engaging in violent acts and disrupting session onJanuary 13 and 15 this year.
The suspended Representatives are Roland Ope Cooper, Henry B. Fahnbulleh and Samuel Kogar , while Representatives Edwin Snowe and Bill Twehway must write letters of apology to Plenary for their roles in the affair.

Younquoi noted that even though the Committee’s recommendations were serious, they were in the interest of maintaining tranquility at the House of Representatives.
