BUCHANAN, March 1 (LINA) – The President of Grand Bassa Community College, Dr. Levi Zangai, has called on Grand Bassa local authorities to merge towns in the various districts to bring speedy development to the areas.

Zangai observed that pockets of towns with huts will be of no significance to development if they do not collaborate and coordinate to make bigger towns to benefit from the newly-launched government Deconcentration Policy Platform.

He made the comment over the weekend at a one-day stakeholders meeting on the “Deconcentration Implementation Process” held in the conference room of the Administration Building in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

“If you look around Bassa, you will observe that almost every family wants to have its own town and as such, when development comes it will not be realized because it will not be evenly distributed.”

He called on citizens of the county to consolidate their towns to bigger ones to get the kind of social services they need.
