TUBMANBURG, March 2 (LINA) - The Manager of Multi-National Credit Union of Liberia, Mr. Pewee Lake, has said the Union aims to serve as a gateway to strengthening of economic activities in the Western region of the country.

Lake said the Union also intends to provide credit opportunity for business and would-be business people in the region.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency on Monday via mobile phone, Lake said since the establishment of the union’s offices in Bomi County about a month ago, the membership is encouraging, as the office covers Bomi, Gbarpolu and Montserrado counties.
He said the Union will give loans to only registered members, especially those engaged in small businesses, marketing, agriculture and farming.

Lake, who did not say how much money was put into the venture, urged people of the region to take advantage of its capacity-building programs by becoming members to have access to loans.
