MONROVIA, March 2 (LINA) – The Ministry of Health has instituted measures at the various borders to prevent the importation of the Ebola Virus Disease from neighboring countries.

The disclosure was made Monday by the Deputy Ebola Incident Manager for Operations at the Ministry of Health, Thomas Nagbe, when he addressed the Ministry of Information daily Ebola press conference in Monrovia.

Nagbe said the measures taken at the Sierra Leone, Guinea and Ivory Coast borders with Liberia include the placement of thermometers and buckets with chlorinated water for washing of hands.

According to Nagbe, cross-border collaboration and intervention are the key activities that the government is focusing on at the moment.
“This is to help prevent the transmission of the Ebola Virus Disease across borders and between countries,” he added.
 
Nagbe noted that health authorities have also developed a cross-border strategy and operational plan at the national level to prevent Ebola patients from entering the country.
