MONROVIA, March 6 (LINA) - Assistant Health Minister Tolbert Nyenswah has warned Liberians against complacency in the face of the discharge of the last confirmed Ebola patient from the Chinese-run Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU) in Monrovia.
“Ebola is not over until it is over,” Nyenswah warned.
He said Liberia has gone 12 days without new confirmed cases of the virus, but emphasized that Liberians should remain vigilant and alert “until we get to zero as a country and be declared Ebola-free” by the World Health Organization (WHO)
Speaking in an interview with the Voice of America (VOA) Friday, Nyenswah described the discharge of the last confirmed Ebola patient in the country as a "milestone."
“Yesterday was a very good day in Liberia as we discharged the lone confirmed cured Ebola case in Ebola Treatment Units in Liberia,” he indicated.
He added: “It means in Liberia, as of today, we do not have any confirmed Ebola case in our treatment units.”
