SANNIQUELLIE, April 5 (LINA) – A Liberian diplomat has called on students to defer their social appetite to acquire the best education that has the power to swiftly transform the country from a reliant to a competitive industrialized state.

 
Liberia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Canada and Mexico, Jeremiah C. Sulunteh, also cautioned Liberian students not to allow themselves to be used as “a political dump truck; useful at elections, but with low value after the  ballot papers are deposited in the boxes.”

Ambassador Sulunteh made the statement on the campus of the Nimba County Community College (NCCC) over the weekend as a keynote speaker at the college’s ‘Back to School Jamboree’ hosted in Sanniquellie.

“The growth and development of this country depends on you, don’t let us down,” he told the students.

During his visit, the Ambassador donated US$500 as an initial contribution to the upcoming student center project at the institution.

He promised to offer sponsorships next academic semester to the five top students who prove academic excellence this semester.
