KAKATA, April 6 (LINA) - The Country Director of Save the Children International (SCI) has assured his organization’s support to positive engagements aimed at youth development in Liberia.

Mr. Greg Duly said though his organization was principally focused on child protection and growth, it has other core functions in the area of youth development.

He said his SCI will work along with youth organizations in Margibi and other counties where the organization is operating to empower them for a guaranteed future.

Duly made the statement over the weekend when his organization’s implementing partner, THINK, with support from the European Union, donated several office equipment to the Margibi County Youth Center in Jenni-Ta, Cinta Township, Upper Margibi County.

The office equipment are four desktop computers with accessories, a set of diesel generator, stationeries, footballs, four sets of jerseys and one set of Public Address System valued at over US$12,000.

Duly said his organization will continue to lobby with its international partners for support to youth development programs in the country.

Receiving the items, Youth president Enoch Obotee thanked Save the Children International and the European Union for their timely intervention.

Obotee said youths of Cinta Township and other parts of the county were in dire need of every good thing that will enable them to develop their minds, adding, “This was the first of its kind.”
