SANNIQUELLIE, April 6 (LINA) -Assistant Youth and Sports Minister Teeko Yorlay has urged young Liberians to blend higher academic education with technical vocational skills to strike a balance for competitive Liberian job market.

"Smartly manage your age and energy to enable you timely transform your lives and remain productive by investing more in technical education," the Minister cautioned the youths.

Speaking to a cross-section of youths and students at the Nimba County Community College in Sanniquellie over the weekend, Yorlay opined that Liberian students and youth should understand that education goes along with age and development.

“At certain age it would appear mentally difficult to enroll for the science courses, but you could manage your age and save more time by acquiring technical skills to make you much more marketable,” he told the students.

He urge parents to send their children to technical and vocational institutions, while pursuing academic education at the same time; adding that it would help the child remain self-sufficient and well-rounded.
