MONROVIA, April 7 (LINA) – Deputy Information Minister Robert Kpadeh has said the Government of Liberia will not relent in bringing to justice individuals who rob the country of its resources.
Kpadeh's statement follows the suspension of the law license of Melvin Johnson by the State Bar of Georgia based on a request by the Government of Liberia recently.
He made the statement at the Ministry of Information daily press conference in Monrovia on Tuesday.
Kpadeh said the suspension of Johnson’s license was the result of a petition filed before the Georgia State Bar by the Liberian Government after an indictment by a Special Grand Jury in Montserrado County in July 2013 of both Johnson and Ellen Corkrum for alleged acts of corruption.
Kpadeh noted that the pronouncement made by Solicitor General Betty Blamo about this case should serve as a strong warning to others involved in such acts.
He added that the government will continue to pursue those matters that are of sinister design, theft or any attempt to castigate the society, adding, “The government will move precisely no matter the time because they will be prosecuted.”
"Disbarment is the final conclusion for his legal practice in America, and the Government of Liberia is pursuing the matter that they bring justice to Liberians," he indicated.
