MONROVIA, April 7 (LINA) –The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has arrested and sent to the Monrovia City Court a 19 year-old resident of the Warren Street community, Moses Mapleh,  on charges of unlicensed sale and distribution of the narcotic drug heroin.

Defendant Mapleh was on April 1 arrested by the DEA with 28 wraps of the drug weighing 6.5grams with a street value of L$19,500 behind the old Defense Ministry on Benson Street while in the process of transacting his heroin business.

During preliminary investigation, it was established that the defendant is a drug dealer and that he was arrested on-the-spot with the narcotic drug.

According to the DEA charge sheet, defendant Mapleh revealed that the drug was given to him by his friends Gabriel Yorkie and Stanley McGill, who was also arrested with six cans of marijuana.

McGill is yet to be arraigned before a court, while Yorkie is at-large.

Meanwhile, Marpleh and McGill are currently detained at the Monrovia Central Prison awaiting court trial.
