MONROVIA, April 8 (LINA) - Liberia’s first industrial rice processing facility, Fabrar Liberia Inc., is to be inaugurated in Kakata, Margibi County on April 9.

U.S. Ambassador Deborah Malac and high-ranking Liberian officials are expected to attend the ceremony, according to a press release from the U.S. Embassy near Monrovia.

With financial and technical support from the U.S. Government through the USAID Food and Enterprise Development (USAID FED) project, Fabrar, a Liberian-owned agriculture firm, was able to procure an automated rice processing plant and expand its warehouse facilities.

The new facility now has the capacity to mill 30 metric tons (MT) of rice each day and store 1,000 MT, doubling its previous capacity.
