MONROVIA, April 9 (LINA) – The Agenda for Transformation (AfT) reaffirms the goal of developing equitable access to higher education for all citizens, especially women, a report says.

“This goal is to ensure equal access to a variety of post-basic education and training opportunities under the Poverty Reduction Strategy Pillar 111-Human Development,” said the report released by the Governance Commission Wednesday.

According to the report released at a Policy Dialogue in Monrovia, gender equality in the higher education system is a core development objective in its own right to enhance productivity and improve other development outcomes.

The report indicated that some of the outcomes include prospects for the next generation and for the quality of societal policies and institutions in the country.

It observed that women with access to education will not only vastly improve their own lives, but also bring changes to their families, economies and societies, adding, “Educate a woman and you educate a nation.”
