MONROVIA, April 13 (LINA) -The Liberian leader says agriculture is the enterprise of the future and a way to growth and development, noting that if Liberians play their part in this sector the nation will have a secure tomorrow.

She said government has not paid much attention to agriculture, although the country is an agricultural nation with vast potential, admitting that agriculture is an expensive undertaking which has been left to small farmers who lack the capital and technical knowledge.

The Chief Executive said because of the financial and technical constraints the small farmers are unable to undertake big ventures where surplus is possible for commercialization, adding, “That’s why we are a major importer of rice and most of our agriculture products.”

According to an Executive Mansion release, the Liberian President made the statement when she inaugurated the Fabrar Liberia Incorporated processing facility in Kakata, Margibi County recently.

The President thanked Fabrar for staying the course though it has taken them five years to reach thus far.

“I want to commend you. I want to applaud you and your team. Your perseverance with innovation and determination is the only thing that could have brought you to where you are today. You didn’t give up,” the President observed.
