MONROVIA, April 16 (LINA) – The Agenda for Transformation (AFT) has earmarked two major objectives to elevate Liberia to a middle-income status by 2030.
A report from the Governance Commission of Liberia termed the objectives as addressing the constraints to growth and increasing inclusiveness for more equal and just society.
The report, released during a one-day dialogue on middle-income countries at a local hotel in Monrovia recently, noted that the objectives are designed to support initiatives that allow a greater proportion of the population to share growth and experience better quality of life.
The report selected three indicators to measure progress that will also help in achieving middle-income status by 2030.
The report named per capita income and consumption, millennium development goals indicators and census indicators and unmet basic needs as the three indicators to measure progress.
The Agenda for Transformation (AFT) is the Government of Liberia’s five-year development strategy which raised Liberia from post-conflict emergency reconstruction and positioned it for future growth.
