VOINJAMA, April 16 (LINA) -The Development Education Network (DEN-L) in collaboration with its partners German-Liberia Association has donated several assorted medical items to the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Voinjama, Lofa County for distribution to clinics across the county.
Making the presentation in Voinjama recently, DEN-L Deputy program Director James Telewoyan put the value of the materials at a little over US$35,000.
He named the materials as surface cleaner for floor, conformable splint, Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and surgical gloves, among other items.
Tellewoyan named ELWA, Phebe, Curran Lutheran Hospital, C.H. Dumbar as well as several clinics in Bong and Lofa counties health facilities that are also benefiting from the DEN-L-German-Liberia Association donation.
He pointed out that the materials donated to the hospitals and clinics are intended to help improve the health care delivery system, especially during this time in the ongoing fight against the Ebola virus.
Receiving the items, the Chief Administrator of the Tellewoyan Hospital, Losene Farwonnie, lauded the efforts of DEN-L and assured that the items will be used to benefit the patients.
For his part, Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital Board of Director Co-Chair Mr. Joseph Kabbah commended DEN-L and its German partners for the gesture, describing it as timely.
Meanwhile, DEN-L has also given several Sonic recorders to several community and private radio stations across Lofa County to enable them in adequately carry out their duties, especially in Ebola awareness and sensitization.
