(LINA) – The National Housing Authority (NHA) has opened bid for a US$ 1million housing project.
Bidders will use the money for the construction of additional 35 housing units to the Gobah Town, Brewerville Housing Estate in Montserrado County.
According to National Housing Authority (NHA) Deputy Managing Director for Administration Alexander S. Kromah, 31 Liberian Construction companies have presented bids.
He said while NHA is committed to the promotion of the Liberianization policy of the Government of Liberia; the process will not be void of the Public Procurement and Concession Commission (PPCC) laws.
“We have the moral, patriotic and institutional obligation to promote Liberian Businesses and this we will do in all of our undertakings which include the awarding of contracts to Liberian Contractors”, Kromah said.
He made the statement when NHA open bid to Liberian Construction Companies for the construction of additional 35 housing units at the Brewerville Housing Estate funded by the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP).
The construction of additional 35 units will bring to 93 the total number of houses under the project as it has already constructed 58 units.
The Companies lauded NHA for observing professional and transparent tendencies in the awarding of contracts.
NHA says it will in the soonest interval furnish winners as well as losers with the result as it anticipate start of the additional project soon.
