(LINA) -The Ministry of Transport has reiterated its warning to commercial drivers against overcharging commuters outside of the government approved fares or face drastic action.
In an interview with the Liberia News Agency Monday, the Director of Communication at the Ministry of Transport, Samson Parjebo, cautioned that intransigent drivers would be drastically dealt with in accordance with the law.
Mr. Parjebo disclosed that the various transport unions in the country have agreed to abide by the new fares, and so there was no reason why individual drivers should choose to unilaterally hike the fares.
He also challenged passengers to report drivers violating the new order to any police officer or the ministry’s authorities.
