ZWEDRU, May 6 (LINA) - Public Works Resident Engineer in Grand Gedeh County Pewee Kesselly has disclosed plans to replace the current contractor with another company to complete the remaining 27-km Zwedru-Konobo Road in the county.
The MPW engineer made the disclosure at the county regular weekly deconcentration platform meeting held in the conference room of the Zwedru Administration Building where all 14 line ministries and agencies presented progress reports.
Kesselly told participants that the action is intended to close phase one of the current road project in order to concentrate on the Agriculture Sector Rehabilitation Project (ASRP).
He indicated that as the tenure of the contract with the Ministry of Agriculture and African Development Bank (AfDB) expires soon, the ASRP project will give way to another project which has already been identified by the Ministry of Agriculture.
The MPW county official noted that it was disheartening to note that after two years of operation, Peace Glory Liberia Construction Company is yet to complete the Zwedru-Konobo road project.
Kesselly pointed out that the Ministry of Public Works discovered during a recent assessment by his office and the newly-assigned ARSP engineer that a substantial portion of the road work remains undone.
