MONROVIA, May 7 (LINA) -River Gee County Senator Conmany B. Wesseh is calling on disaster relief bodies and individuals to reach out directly to victims of the recent rainstorm in Chedepo Jarkaken in River Gee and not through any citizen or organization in the county.

 
The River Gee County lawmaker said this will make the assistance from donors to yield quick and positive impact on the lives of the victims.
 
Senator Wesseh made the call in an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA) at his Capitol Building office in Monrovia Wednesday.
 
Meanwhile, the lawmaker is calling on citizens of the county to rally support for victims of the storm, adding, “It is about time that citizens of River Gee residing in the county, Monrovia and abroad lend both moral and financial aid to their brothers and sisters.”
 
Wesseh disclosed that the county’s Legislative Caucus is holding meetings to see how best it can generate assistance to help victims recover from both the economic and social trauma associated with the disaster.
 
Wesseh lauded institutions, organizations and citizens for the level of support rendered the victims since the incident occurred, and expressed sympathy to the victims for the loss sustained.
 
On April 19, a rainstorm hit Chedepo Jarkaken in River Gee County, destroying about 98 houses and leaving over 300 persons homeless, while three others  wounded are currently undergoing treatment at the Fish Town Referral Hospital.
